Barcelona have now surpassed Xavi Hernandez’s team in total goals scored throughout last season.

Hansi Flick’s Barcelona thrashed Sevilla 4-1 at the Camp Nou on Sunday, meaning the Blaugrana have now scored 113 goals in all competitions this season – more than the 110 they managed in all of last term, Ufabet Sport reported on Monday.

Against Sevilla, the scoring began early when Robert Lewandowski found the net just seven minutes into the match, matching last season’s total of 110 goals.

Barcelona currently lead the league in goals scored on 64, ahead of leaders Real Madrid, who have netted just 51. Flick’s Blaugrana are now on the verge of overtaking Luis Enrique Martinez’s side, who had one of the best attacking lines in the club’s history, netting 116 times in the 2016-17 season. 

The all-time record for most goals scored belongs to Real Madrid, with the Whites scoring a combined 121 goals in the 2011-2012 season.

Lewandowski continues to be a pivotal figure in Barcelona’s success. His goal against Sevilla not only equalled his scoring tally from last season but also brought him closer to surpassing his 22-23 record.

With 19 goals so far in the league, he leads the Pichichi race, staying ahead of Kylian Mbappe, who trails with 16.
